While the mayoral proclamation was read at the past two festivals, new Mayor David Ward was the first to read it publicly at a council meeting. Rainbow flags dotted Sturgeon Bay's Martin Park to celebrate Pride month and recognize several local LGBTQ+ firsts. The third annual Open Door Pride Festival brought together local LGBTQ+ community members and their allies, with a goal of erasing age and identity divisions and put more focus on pride.
